Steps to help your children get back into the swing of school.
Summer is coming to an end and almost every retailer has notebooks, pens, pencils, and calculators on offer. Back to school season is officially in full swing! To ease your child back into attending school, check out these steps.
- Do Your Research
Make sure to do your research before the kids head back to school. Where does the bus stop? When does school start again? Does your child need new school supplies? Visit the school’s website where there are many important dates and resources so that you know how to prepare.
- Get Organized
If you’re going to be packing lunches, now is a good time to start stocking up on staples like snacks, fruits and vegetables, and lunchboxes. Also, school supplies and uniforms are filling the stores, so now is a good time to stock up on needed essentials that your child will need in the coming year.
- Set a Routine
The lazy days of summer are almost gone and, believe us, waking up on the first day back at school at 10 a.m. is never a good idea. Two weeks before school starts, start sending your kids to bed earlier and wake them up earlier. This way, your children will be back in their school sleep schedule before the first day back.
- Soothe Your Child
Back to school jitters are a real thing and can be incredibly overwhelming. Whether your child is going back to the same school or starting a new one, he or she may be nervous. Your gentle words of encouragement can ease the stress of going back to school for your child.
- Prepare the Night Before
The morning of the first day back at school will go a lot smoother if you have prepared the night before. Ensure that your child has laid out his or her clothes, boxed up their lunch, and packed their bag. This will help your child and yourself make each morning a breeze!
